ZAHRAA, an emerging actress and activist from the new generation, questions her life as a woman in Baghdad. She dives into the past with her aunt HAYAT, the midwife who delivered her, while reflecting on the life of renowned human rights activist HANAA to guide her search for a future in Iraq.

About The Director
is a filmmaker and actress from Baghdad. She started her career as a writer, presenter, and later director for a social TV show. In 2016, she took on acting, which earned her several international awards. In 2018, Zahraa attended intensive courses at MET Film School in Berlin. ‘Women of my life’ is Zahraa’s feature debut.
About The Producer
is the founder of Berlin-based HEARTWAKE films, producing fiction and documentary films with unique visions and feminist perspectives for international audiences. Julia is an alumna of Berlinale Talents, Rotterdam Lab, and EAVE Producers Workshop, and a member of EWA network, Produzentenverband & the French-German film academy.
