My Father Looks Like Hassan Fathy
The film follows the Egyptian 60-year-old architect, Tarek Waly, in his struggle to revive the model village of New Gourna, in Luxor, built in the 1940s by his mentor Hassan Fathy, the most famous representative of the local Egyptian modernism, after being commissioned by the UNESCO to restore it.

Sama Waly
Born in 1990, Sama Waly is a researcher in cultural history and a filmmaker. As a Masters graduate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she writes, teaches, curates and edits publications in the cultural sector in Cairo, besides working on several artistic projects between Cairo and Chicago.

Rodrigo Brum
Rodrigo Brum is a Brazilian filmmaker, currently based in Cairo. He holds an MA in philosophy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and an MFA in film, video, new media, and animation from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He recently directed his first feature documentary, Like Someone Who Hears a Very Sad Song (in post-production), shot in the Cape Verdean archipelago. In Cairo, he is working on his second feature-length, My Father Looks Like Hassan Fathy.

Mark Lotfy
Mark Lotfy is an Egyptian filmmaker and producer who established Fig Leaf Studios in 2005, and produced award winning feature films and documentaries, such as Dream Away and I Have A Picture, that were officially selected in international festivals like: Berlinale, São Paulo, Karlovy Vary and London film festivals etc.
